The article presents thoughts over autobiographical reports from Elementary School teachers, elaborated under the form of training-research memorials during their participation in a distance learning course. The theoretical and methodological framework adopted in the training-research are based on literature on teacher’s learning and professional development, as well as in a constructive-collaborative model of teacher-researcher interaction. The course was carried out through the Moodle platform of UFSCar’s Teachers Portal (www.portaldosprofessores.ufscar.br) as a tool to access the virtual learning environment of the 120 hours long course, held between September 2010 and May 2011. Teachers’ narratives about their personal and professional lives were considered as research data, and therefore assumed and performed a dual role: as professional learning tools and as data collection tools. These narratives analysis indicate that the memoir writing process, besides enabling others analysis, allowed the teachers to recognize themselves as protagonists of their education path through immersing themselves in their life stories as a way of expanding their own knowledge: a kind of reflection that contributes to the their classroom teaching practices.
